This vintage Asian pendant necklace of rare design is crafted in a combination of platinum and solid 18K yellow gold and weighs 27.4 grams. Designed as an ovular madallion style pendant of sculptural pattern, the pendant incorporates a large oval-jade on one side and an enchanting Australian black opal on the reverse side. The latter depicts the yellow gold relief bodies of two dragons , with red & green eyes and winding bodies atop a diamond-encrusted surface. The jade side of the pendant also exposes two dragons and two lions in yellow gold, diamond enriched bodies, the eyes simulated by emeralds to match the color of the jade background. The constituents of this piece could have mythological significance in oriental cultures which are not known to us. We therefore confine ourselves to admiring the artistic craftsmanship and the aesthetic beauty of this pendant. This rare jade pendant features at the upper extremity a crown-shaped silhouette and a tubular profile substituting a bale, engraved inside with Pt 900 and a reference number and hallmarked. This item is in pristine condition.
