It all began in 1885, when Manuel Carrera opened for business in Madrid, Spain. It didn’t take long for his charming sculptures and beautiful period Carrera jewelry pieces to find favor in Queen Maria Cristina de Habsburgo’s Spanish court.
After 60 years in business the Carrera Y Carrea jewelry store suffered as a result of World War II and like many vibrant businesses, faded into oblivion. Then in 1970 two cousins, Manuel and Juan Jose decided to breathe new life into the family’s Carrera jewelry business. Together they founded Carrera Y Carrera Madrid.
